Nerd alert: a bit of Harry Potter talk ahead!
When I read this article about Hermione and Ron from Harry Potter a couple weeks ago, I got super frustrated and upset. I knew I had to do something about my feelings and crafting seemed like the perfect outlet. I thought about it for a few minutes and then realized that there was just the pattern for me… Hermione Hearts Ron! I was lucky to find some sport weight wool already in my stash and I cast on right away. This hat knitted up in just a couple of days and now I can wear my subtle Ron and Hermione pride all winter long.
Yarn: Cascade 220 Sport Pattern: Hermione Hearts Ron Ravelry Project Page: Hermione Hearts Ron!
I recently finished a coat for my little dog, Laser.
(pattern is A wolf in sheep’s clothing by Kate Davies, yarn is Knit Picks Palette, rav project page is here)
He didn’t cooperate too well with photos outside because there was fluffy SNOW and new SMELLS!
It features a button closure with a couple modifications– I’ve had to move the buttons once already because the yarn stretched out a bit during wearing.
Teeny leg holes have the same gradient rib that I worked on the edgings of the coat.
A few extra rams grace the back as my boy is strangely long for a Lhasa Apso; there was a whole lot of ribbed edging as a consequence!
All in all, I had a load of fun knitting Laser’s coat and I love how it turned out. He’s warm and I’m happy. I was able to use up quite a bit of yarn, so my Palette stash is (finally!) dwindling. 🙂
